South Devon Evangelical Trust
Charity Trust Number: 1086361
South Devon Evangelical Trust (SDET) was established in 2001 to support Christian workers in churches across South Devon.
During 2013, to enable us to more easily develop our projects within primary schools, SDET became a franchise partner of 'Exeter ICE Charitable Trust', and began to operate under the name of ICE Torbay.
In 2013, SDET employed Gemma Drew to work in primary schools within the Torbay area. Gemma had two roles; the 'Open the Book' Coordinator for the Torbay area and a Christian Schools Worker for ICE Torbay. During September 2015, Nick Pitt joined the team as a Christian Schools Worker and throughout 2016 demand for the activities which we offered grew considerably. Towards the end of 2016, following her time taken on Maternity Leave, Gemma decided not to return to work but rather, to spend her time bringing up her new son.
In January 2017 Christine Hargreaves joined the team as a Christian Schools Worker and a year later, in January 2018, Hazel Bennett also joined us having been offered a split role of 'Open the Book' Coordinator for the Torbay area and Christian Schools Worker for ICE Torbay.
SDET is committed to effectively and relevantly communicating the good news of Jesus to children and young people and to helping young Christians to share this good news with their peers.
